Ruth's Chris Steak House grilling tips
Add some sizzle to your July 4th Cook Out with these grilling tips from Ruth’s Chris Steak House!

America is certainly the home of the brave, especially when it comes to backyard grilling. This year, instead of slapping some steaks on the grill and hoping they turn out okay, follow these sure fire tips from steak master Executive Chef Rick Crossland of Ruth’s Chris Steak House:

1.  First, be sure to pre-heat your gas or charcoal grill to high heat. This will sear in the natural juices of the meat.
2.  Never skimp on the quality of your steak. Look at marbling and the thickness to ensure the highest quality.
3.  When it comes to seasoning, keep it simple. This allows the natural flavor quality of the meat to shine through. Use rubs made of sea salt and black pepper. And if you want a little more flavor, top your cooked steak with a little melted garlic-herb butter before serving.
4.  Don’t be overeager when turning your steaks. Depending on how well-cooked you want your steaks, turn them every 3-4 minutes. Never use a fork to puncture the meat; doing so releases the natural juices.
5.  If you need the added reassurance, use a digital thermometer to measure the temperature of your steaks. These temperature guidelines will ensure that your steaks are done to your preference:
• Rare – 120 degrees F.
• Medium Rare – 125 degrees F.
• Medium – 130 degrees F.
6.  Be sure to remember that the steaks will continue to cook after you take them off the grill; temperatures can rise 5-10 degrees F., so take this into account when testing your meat.
7.  Finally, to prevent the steaks from drying out, let them rest before cutting into the meat.
8.  Of course, for the absolute perfect steak, you will need to visit a Ruth’s Chris Steak House, says Crossland.

“Ruth’s Chris steaks are carefully selected and aged for tenderness, cut thick to ensure juiciness and seared to perfection at 1800 degrees,” says Crossland. “We then top each one with fresh butter that sizzles on your plate, announcing the arrival of a fantastic steak and experience you’ll be talking about for days.”

After you’ve gotten things heated up on the grill, you’ll have to cool off with a thirst quenching adult beverage. Raise the bar this year with these handcrafted picks.
